Color

Color is not only a reflection of light but also reflects our thoughts/feelings and memories. But for me they are just colors. Blue is blue, red is red…I want to find a new way to use color: avoid using color directly.

I want to show everyone that COLOR itself has no meaning, they’re neutral.

About why I use oval and square.
To me, the square has a limited feel and the oval has an infinite feel.

Backstory

Malevich’s <<Black Square>> gave me a lot of inspiration before my idea was formed. At the same time I also found a really great explanation video on YouTube called The revolution of the black square by HENI Talks.

It didn’t try to represent the world in other ways, there was no shading, there’s no outline, there’s no sense of a perspective, trying to render three dimensions in a two-dimensional space…

It’s about pure color, it’s about planes and lines and shapes. The freed art from a slave-like relationship to the power of structures. it released art from the pressure to be mimetic, to be a mirror of the world…
